Cures from the Kitchen by Nena Niessen Let me guide you through a nutritional cooking program that will change your life and the lives of your loved ones!My mission is to help you achieve and maintain good health, and aid in the prevention of disease through the use of healthful, all natural foods. We live in a time in which so many things compete for our attention such as our career, our finances, our relationships, etc., so that attending to our health often ends up last on our priority list. But when faced with a dire health issue - such as I was while struggling with cancer myself during the last years - I found myself drawing upon my cooking skills and studies of natural healing, in the end developing a regime of "Cooking for Cancer." After experiencing my own health and wellness successes through this "Cooking for Cancer" approach, I have been inspired to educate other people to utilize food as a tool in order to improve upon their condition. I firmly believe that we have to take an active role in keeping our body healthy. We can no longer afford to relinquish the responsibility for our health to the medical industry. It is our duty to preserve and keep our body healthy. I now offer "Cooking for Cancer" classes, because I believe that especially when our health is compromised, we can no longer continue to poison our bodies with foods that are loaded with pesticides and preservatives. I follow the 80/20 rule -- 80% raw and 20% cooked as well as 80% alkaline and 20% acidic food. In my cooking classes, I offer tips and guidelines how to create and maintain a satisfying and healthy diet in a simple and creative way. Please let me help you in your fight to be well - with a holistic approach to taking some proactive steps to support your struggle for health and wellness. My "Cooking for Cancer" classes might be the perfect first step. Bell Pepper Tomoto Soup: ![]() * 1 red bell pepper slice * 1 yellow bell pepper slice * 1 orange bell pepper * 2 shallots sliced * 5 garlics * 3 medium size tomatoes chopped * 1/2 cup of fresh almond milk * Pinch of salt * Pinch of lemon pepper * 1/4 of teaspoon of grape seed oil Heat grape seed oil in a medium saucepan. Add tomatoes bell pepper and shallots , garlic and sauté until tender, add salt and pepper to taste. Place in a blender and puree. Then add water and almond milk to acquire right consistence. If too think add more water or more almond milk for creamy flavor. Health Benefits: They are a good source of Vitamin C, thiamine,Vitamin B6,beta carotene, and folic acid. It also contain large amount of Phytochemicals that have exceptional antioxidant activity. Bell peppers studies have show that red bell peppers have significantly higher levels of nutrients than green. Red bell peppers helps to protect against cancer and heart disease. Possibly due to their vitamin C and beta carotene content, bell peppers have been shown to be protective against cataracts. Just like other nutrient-dense vegetables, bell peppers contain many different powerful phytochemicals. Bell peppers have also been shown to prevent blood clot formation and reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes probably due to their content of substances such as vitamin C, capsaicin, and flavonoids. Although chili peppers contain a higher amount of those substances, bell peppers should still be promoted especially for individuals with elevated cholesterol levels.
